Apples: One Fruit, Three Ways

After putting on romping boots and collecting buckets of apples, it was time to preserve and enjoy them through the upcoming months.

At first I thought about filling my freezer with apple pies for the upcoming holidays, but decided to get creative. From sweet to savory, I wanted to make a range of goodies to stock the pantry and give as holiday gifts. (I don't have a pantry, but you know...)

One fruit, three delicious recipes. Homegrown green apples made into chutney, apple butter and apple pie filling.

What could be more delicious than that? But as they say, beauty is in the pie on the holder, so I core-dially invite you to try these receipes!

First thing, prep the apples. Peel and core the apples, removing bruises and worm holes. To prevent the apples from browning, add lemon juice to them periodically as you are processing them.
